Canadian Visa

If you want to attend healthcare conferences in Canada as an international participant, you need to apply for a Canadian visa. Based on your country and citizenship status, a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) will be required for your visit. To support your conference visa application, the Healthcare Conference provides an invitation letter with every successful registration. We come with additional support services to make your travel easy and convenient.

How to Apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)?

Healthcare Conference welcomes international participants to grow their healthcare skills and network at conferences in Canada. Many participants want to come, but they cannot because of the complexity of the visa application process. However, you can easily apply for your TRV since IRCC makes it easy with their website. Here is the process:

First, be sure that you are eligible to apply for a temporary resident visa in Canada. If you have a record of criminal activities or immigration-related issues, you’ll be rejected in the first place. You might also be financially solvent to stay and prove your return from Canada.

Second, you need to collect all the documents required by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to apply for a temporary resident visa. Such documents are your valid passport, photograph with the required format and size, financial proof, etc. Any supporting document like a conference invitation letter and hotel booking copy will weigh your application.

Third, sign into the IRCC portal and fill in the required field with accurate information. Upload the scanned copy of your collected documents in the field where they are needed. Check all the information again and submit your application.

After successfully applying for the Canadian visa online, you have to wait for the approval. It can take time to review all the details and information of your application. So, it would be wise to apply for the visa at least two months before the date of the conference.

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

If you are a citizen of the United States or are attending a conference from a visa-exempt country, you do not have to go through the visa application process. However, you need to get an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) for your visit.

Whether you hold a Canadian passport, are a temporary resident, or are an immigrant, you do not need to go through any of the processes to join healthcare conferences. You simply register for the event or conference and get access to the program. Here is how you can apply for your eTA:

First of all, visit the eTA application page of the IRCC website and use the online form with the required information. This information includes a valid passport from a visa-exempt country, a valid email address, and a few security questions.

Then, you have to pay the eTA fee, which is $7 CAD, using verified payment methods such as debit or credit card, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc. After completing the payment, you’ll get approval on your eTA. You need to show this approval within your passport to the immigration officer when you arrive in Canada.

Business Visitor to Attend the Conference

Attending our conference as a business visitor requires a temporary resident visa (TRV) or Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). In order to apply for a TRV visa, you need to present an invitation letter for a business visit from a Canadian organization. The invitation letter must come with the following details:

  • Name, address, and other information of participants
  • Purpose of visit, e.g., attending a healthcare conference
  • Details of the organization or host of the conference
  • Topic, venue, date, and time of the event
  • Any special event code provided by IRCC. (it doesn’t guarantee your visa approval).

Please note that our invitation letter for your business visit doesn’t guarantee your visa approval.

Minor Children to visit in Canada

If your child is under 18, he/she will be considered a minor and have to go through the visa application process. That means they need to prepare separate documents to apply for their visa for the trip. Sometimes, they need to provide additional documents depending on their situation. Here are the details:

  • Minors who are traveling alone need to attach their birth certificate, parents signed authorization, and the details of their Canadian local guardian.
  • To travel with single parents, the parent needs to show his/her minor’s authorization, which is signed by the parent who is not traveling at the moment.
  • If the minor’s parents are separated or divorced but still in custody, the visited parent must show a copy of the legal custody document.

For more information about minor visits in Canada, read the IRCC guidelines.
